Planning & Purchasing Coordinator

Manufacturing Planning & Purchasing Coordinator

📍 Baildon, West Yorkshire | 💰 £30,000 – £36,000 DOE

📋 The Opportunity

Love it when a plan comes together? Even better at keeping things moving when it doesn't?

10 Recruitment are delighted to be working with an established Yorkshire manufacturing business with over 100 years of heritage, supplying customers throughout the UK and internationally.

We're looking for a Manufacturing Planning & Purchasing Coordinator who knows their way around production schedules, purchasing, materials planning and supplier relationships.

This is a varied, hands-on position where you'll play a key role in keeping production running smoothly, ensuring materials arrive when needed, stock levels remain under control and customer demands are met.

If you're highly organised, commercially aware and enjoy being the person who keeps everything on track, this could be right up your street!

⚙️ What Will You Be Doing?

You'll be right at the heart of the manufacturing operation, working closely with production, purchasing, sales, logistics and finance.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Production Planning: Creating, managing and adjusting production schedules to meet customer demand, stock availability and manufacturing capacity.
  • Purchasing & Procurement: Managing purchase orders, sourcing materials and components, and ensuring suppliers deliver on time.
  • Materials Planning: Forecasting requirements, monitoring availability and preventing shortages that could disrupt production.
  • Supplier Management: Building strong supplier relationships, monitoring performance and resolving delivery or supply issues.
  • Stock Control: Monitoring raw materials, work in progress and finished goods to maintain efficient inventory levels.
  • Cost Management: Supporting negotiations around pricing, minimum order quantities, lead times and purchasing efficiency.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Using Excel and ERP/MRP systems to monitor performance, identify potential issues and support effective decision-making.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identifying opportunities to improve planning processes, reduce waste and increase operational efficiency.

It's a role where no two days are necessarily the same, and your ability to think ahead, adapt and keep things organised will make a real difference.

🎯 What Are We Looking For?

We're looking for someone who understands how manufacturing works and appreciates the importance of getting the right materials to the right place at the right time.

You'll need:

  • Experience in production planning, materials planning, purchasing or procurement within a manufacturing environment.
  • Good working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence working with data.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong numerical and analytical abilities.
  • Confidence communicating with suppliers and colleagues across different departments.
  • The ability to manage changing priorities and solve problems under pressure.
  • A commercially minded approach, balancing cost, quality and delivery.

It would be a bonus if you also have:

  • Experience planning materials and components for manufacturing.
  • Experience managing supplier relationships and purchasing activities.
  • Exposure to international suppliers.
  • Knowledge of finite or infinite capacity planning.
  • A relevant qualification in manufacturing, supply chain, procurement or business.

🎁 What's In It For You?

Alongside a salary of £30,000 – £36,000 depending on experience, you'll benefit from:

  • 🏖️ 33 days annual leave
  • 🤝 Employee Ownership Trust – be part of an employee-owned business.
  • 🎉 Regular team events
  • 🏆 Monthly employee rewards
  • 🚗 On-site parking
  • 🕓 Early finish every Friday!

Working Hours:

Monday to Thursday: 8:30am – 5:00pm

Friday: 8:30am – 4:00pm

🚀 Why This Opportunity?

This isn't simply about placing purchase orders or updating spreadsheets.

You'll be an important part of the manufacturing operation, helping to connect customer requirements with production capabilities and supplier performance.

You'll have the opportunity to take ownership of your workload, build relationships across the business and make a genuine contribution to production efficiency and customer satisfaction.

With over a century of manufacturing heritage and an employee-owned structure, this is an opportunity to join a well-established Yorkshire business with a strong foundation.
